Jancis writes Hard on the heels of Max’s report on Australian terroir yesterday and a day before Richard reports on a recent tasting of some top-of-the-range Penfolds wines comes today’s assortment of 103 tasting notes on Australian wines.
I can’t help being impressed by how many wines of both colours managed a score of at least 17 out of 20: 34% of the 41 whites and an even higher proportion, a massive 43%, of the 62 reds. This inspired me to look at comparable proportions in our recent assemblages.
