As usual, Michael Chapoutier presented his latest vintage of his Sélections Parcellaires in London, earlier than anyone else was showing their 2013 Rhône wines outside the region. As usual he enjoyed shocking conventions. 'Where is my glass of champagne?', he asked his colleagues from importers Mentzendorff at the beginning of his annual sermon, adding mischievously, 'Yes I drink three bottles of it a day. We have to help the Champagne region.' Last month he turned 50 but certainly doesn't act it.
