Jancis writes Our collection of 120 tasting notes on the increasingly fashionable wines of the Loire include a group of 29 assorted red wines that are mainly but not exclusively based on the potentially lovely Cabernet Franc grape. Exceptions are the red Sancerre, Reuilly and Menetou-Salon based on Pinot Noir, the Cot and the Gamay-based Touraine red.
The whites have been grouped according to their principal grape variety. I am personally heartened by the number of Muscadets described here. It doesn't seem that long ago since Muscadet was virtually a forgotten wine, but...
