Here are notes on the 33 sweet white bordeaux 2007 we tasted last week, which yielded by far the highest proportion of seriously high marks of all the hundreds of wines tasted. Do not ignore these wines! Especially if you are determined for whatever reason to buy some 2007s.

 

Not that 2007 is as great a Sauternes vintage as 2001. It is more brutal, less creamy and fine, but there is no gainsaying the massive sweetness of these wines, even if there is sometimes a hint of bitterness at this...
