At Haut-Brion, Jean-Philippe Delmas pointed out that the vintage was saved by the cool nights that retained the grapes’ and therefore wines’ freshness. He is now helped on the commercial side by Philippe Vidal, and there was much talk of Le Clarence, the newish smart restaurant and wine shop in Paris that is run alongside the Clarence Dillon wine operations based at Haut-Brion. The proportions of the second wines here were apparently the same as in 2015 even though overall the yields were higher.
