Today we stay on the left bank of the Gironde but travel north and south to the Médoc and the Haut-Médoc, as well as looking at the vineyards south of the city of Bordeaux in Pessac-Léognan and Graves. See this guide to all of our coverage of Bordeaux 2018. 

It was hard not to pick ripe grapes, even Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, in the long Indian summer of 2018 and this has been to the benefit of producers with, on the whole, more modest vineyards or rather shallower pockets.

There are likely to be some good-value and very-good-value...
