Continuing south of the Haut-Médoc, we stay on the left bank and head to Pessac-Léognan and Graves. See this guide to the rest of our coverage of the extraordinary 2018 vintage in Bordeaux.
There may be fewer highs in this selection of 41 wines than elsewhere but the overall quality is very good, with an average score of nearly 16.3. My tasting notes for Pessac-Léognan are usually littered with positive references to 'leafy' fragrance and subtlety but the weather conditions of 2018 did not favour this more delicate and scented style of wine.
