Brunello producers meet

Giuseppe Sesti, who makes some fine, traditional Brunello di Montalcino at the Castello di Argiano, sends the following update on the current kerfuffle in Montalcino. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at the big meeting in the Montalcino theatre on Wednesday.They are right that some of the allegations and gossip have been decidedly lurid.
There is an investigation underway over some top (in size) vineyards, Frescobaldi, Banfi, Argiano (our neighbour) and Col d'Orcia.
Controls are about three issues:
1) Check the results of the Consortium over the controls (started in 2004) that all the vineyards...
