Central Otago Pinot Noir – does it age?

Two years on from my first visit to Central Otago for the Pinot Noir Celebration 2016, I was back in Queenstown at the end of January this year to see what had changed and to consider one particular question: How well does Central Otago Pinot Noir age? I found that I could not answer this question without also asking if changes in winemakaing will lead to better ageing than in the past.

The question of longevity was raised on the forum at the end of last year in relation to NZ Pinot more generally, and included some prime examples...
