Prior to the recent announcement of the 2022 version of the St-Émilion classification I had the chance to taste the last seven bottled vintages of Ch La Gaffelière. La Gaffelière has been a premier grand cru classé (B) since the inception of the classification in 1955, and the news had already filtered out that along with Angélus, Ausone and Cheval Blanc it would not figure in the 2022 edition, the owning Malet Roquefort family having taken the decision to withdraw from the classification due...
