Today I'll be at the Cheltenham Literary Festival, talking about our new book from 2 pm. I hope to see one or two visitors to this site there and hope to be signing copies.
Because José Vouillamoz lives in Switzerland, Julia in the far east (of London) and me in the north, it is extremely rare for all of us three authors of the 1,200-page Wine Grapes – A complete guide to 1,368 vine varieties including their origins and flavours to be together. In fact, it has happened only once in the four years that have elapsed since our fateful meeting at the Café Anglais described in The inside story of Wine Grapes.
But on the afternoon of Sunday 18 November we will once more be reunited for one gig only, a Decanter Masterclass in the Landmark Hotel, London, to present a tasting of some of the more unusual and important grape varieties encountered in our work on the fascinating story of wine grapes.
Unfortunately, we have nothing to do with the pricing, which seems to be a standard £95 a ticket for all Masterclasses organised at this event. But there will be a chance to buy a personally dedicated copy of this seminal tome both before and after our talk, scheduled for 4 to 5.30 pm.
You can find out more, including which wines will be tasted, via here in our Events diary.
