With its mere 3,191 ha (7,885 acres) of vineyards representing barely 3% of Germany’s area under vine, the Rheingau turned out to be the region that submitted the most 2019s for me to taste at home this year – in lieu of the usual big Weinbörse tasting in April in Mainz.
