Gloom in Barolo country

Wine writer and educator Young Shi commutes between London and Shanghai and represents my interests in China. She was rather shaken by what she found on her visit to Barolo last week.

This is exactly how blue the Barolo producers are feeling right now. June and the first half of July did not behave weather-wise. Everyone in the Langhe hills has been on tiptoes of expectation...
