Klaus Peter Keller of Weingut Keller in Rheinhessen sends this happy and satisified report on his year in the vineyar and the results in the cellar.
Low yields, exciting wines
After a cool and wet beginning to the year (with true winter temperatures), April showed – quite in contrast to 2008 – its sunny side with temperatures up to 30 °C.
Hence budburst was nearly three weeks earlier than the long-term average and from the very beginning we had to hurry with the vineyard work.
Those who were expecting an overly early flowering were wrong. Owing to the rather unfavourable...
