Looking back at burgundy 2013

I thought I’d add a few thoughts about the 2013 burgundies now that Burgundy Week is over and I had the chance to taste samples from some of the less elevated domaines in London as well as direct from the barrel at some of the smarter addresses in Burgundy.

• There is no doubt that, with some notable exceptions, the overall quality in London was lower than in Burgundy. This is not surprising but is a clear indication that this is not a consistent vintage.
