An update on my previous recommendations.

• Adnams of Southwold

  Like many other fine wine merchants, seem to have quite a few 1998 red burgundies on their hands, notably Vincent Girardin's in Adnams' case though I find his whites more impressive than his reds. And here's a bit of a warning bell, written about Lar de Barros Tempranillo 1999 Estremadura: 'Not one for tucking away and forgetting about, this one is perfect party drinking.' Reduced from £4.95 to £3.95, it sounds as though it might not even make it home.

  Best buys are Cullens Semillon/Sauvignon 2000 reduced from £10.50...
