New Zealand new releases

Every year New Zealand Wines in the UK stages a new release tasting but it is inherently self-selective, as so many generic tastings are, since anyone can enter their wines if they are willing to pay for the privilege. I'm not saying it is that expensive (NZ$290 per wine, ie about £150/US$245/€185), but there are certainly several costs involved, and producers may feel there is a better way to spend their money – or they may have concluded that the UK market is too price-conscious to make it a worthwhile investment.
