As the Cambridge team hugged, jumped and screamed, I was taken back to my own Oxford v Cambridge blind wine-tasting competition and the feeling of dejection at losing this match over a decade ago. This is supposed to be – and is – fun, but both sides take the wine tasting very seriously. The process turns wine from a hobby into a lifelong obsession for many tasters, forming lasting friendships and at times inspiring careers...
