Rest of France – a compilation

This collection of more than 80 wine reviews includes everything French that is not in our compilations of Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace, Rhône, Languedoc and Roussillon. See our guide to this season's compilations. They are grouped by region and colour and then in descending score order. The image is of the 1852 Levasseur map of the département known then as the Loire Inférieure which encompasses the Muscadet region. There do seem to be signs that Loire wines are increasingly valued for the special qualities they can offer.
