Robots in the vineyard, shredders in the winery
The level of detail in the technical presentations at last month’s International Cool Climate Wine Symposium in Brighton, alluded to in my overview, was an indicator of the level of involvement and technical expertise of the majority of the delegates from around the world. Some of the sessions were specifically related to cool-climate regions but others were more general; some, such as the report on the VineRobot (see below), were still very much work in progress.
