Southern Chile – the tasting notes

In an article to be published tomorrow, I will describe the continuing current extension of the world’s wine map towards the South Pole with special consideration given to the latest developments in South America.
Historically, all the best wines of Chile came from the Maipo Valley right on the doorstep of the capital Santiago but in recent years there have been serious vineyard projects all over the country, from fog-cooled Elqui in the north (once pisco country) right down as far south as Chiloé Island, 1,100km south of Santiago, way off the wine map here just south of Puerto...
