What a funny day yesterday was. I share a handful of the more unlikely scenes.
9.30 am Beaune autoroute service station car park
I check my Blackberry after the two and half hour drive north from a great weekend with Nick and old friends near Roanne. It is buzzing with the news that Jay Miller is leaving Robert Parker's team of wine reporters, to be replaced by British wine writer Neal Martin on the Spanish and South American beat and by our old friend and Purple pager David Schildknecht in the Pacific Northwest. We wine writers do love a gossip...
