The 2010 season was not unlike this year (2013), when an abundance of rain has created huge fungal pressure and made it all but impossible to enter the vineyards with tractors due to the very soggy soils. The 2010 spring rains were equally frequent – although downy mildew was less dramatic in 2010 than is currently the case in much of the Langhe.
