These 133 tasting notes augment Walter's earlier report Barolo 2014 – not light but lithe.
In March I went back to Barolo to taste more of the newly released 2014s, a vintage plagued with problems, not least its bad rap as the coldest and wettest in memory. Poor fruit set during the cold and wet spring, persistent rains and overcast skies as well as violent bursts of hails ravaged a yield that in the end turned out to be a third less than normal.
