Barolo 2015 – concentration, balance and mysterious freshness

After the very light if pleasing 2014 vintage, 2015 Barolo presents itself with great aplomb, concentration and above all quantity. The region is back to normal volumes after the 2014 vintage that was a third smaller than the norm.
Paradoxically, 25% of that tiny 2014 vintage is still languishing in many cellars – an observation based on the number of the Consorzio’s banderoles that each bottle of Barolo must carry which have so far remained unsold...
