This is the start of a new series – sets of tasting notes painstakingly transcribed by a wine-loving genius cryptographer. They were originally scrawled in one of the little notebooks I take round with me to make notes on the wines I think might be of special interest to you. This often means that the notes are very far from a perfect answer in a Master of Wine practical exam, hem, hem. The sweet wines served at the end of a long wine dinner tend to get particularly short shrift in particularly illegible handwriting. I hope you will understand.
