According to the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), in 2017 total worldwide plantings of Garnacha were 163,000 ha (402,780 acres). Campo de Borja accounts for 2.2% of those. This wine appellation is situated south of Navarra within the Aragón region, and precisely located in between the river Ebro to the east and the Moncayo Massif to the west. Moncayo is the highest mountain of the Iberian range that separates the Ebro river valley from the central Spanish plateau and reaches 2,315 m (7,595 ft).
