Chile – the top wines

Chile is (not before time) producing some wine of interest to serious, value-conscious wine-lovers nowadays (see my recent article in the FT) for some of the best buys). During my brief trip there in February I was lucky enough to see several verticals of some of the most famous, and most expensive, wines too. Relevant notes appear below, but see also Chile – some more great buys in wine news. In the notes below (CS) indicates a cask sample.
