Domaine A – a most unusual Tasmanian

I have just been reminded by Rodrigo in your turn of the excellent and unusual Tasmanian producer Domaine A, run by Peter Althaus who also has interests in the wine scene in China. Here are some notes I wrote on some of their wines tasted in my hotel room in Sydney last February. The first wine is the most distinctive of the lot in a way.
Domaine A, Lady A Fume Blanc 2003 Tasmania 18 Drink 2005-09
Remarkably serious oaked Sauvignon nose with real depth and, surely, low yields. Some honeyed charcter and no excess of oak – indeed...
