As close students of the subject will know, not least because it has been discussed here and in associated articles, Aubert de Villaine of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has long been much less enthusiastic about biodynamic viticulture than many of his friends and peers in Burgundy such as Anne-Claude Leflaive and Dominique Lafon. He has consistently maintained that although they have been organic for 20 years or more at DRC and for the last seven or eight years have experimented with biodynamic practices, he hasn’t really seen any clear advantages for wine quality in the latter.
