Glorying in Chevalier Montrachets

The following unique opportunity to assess one of Burgundy’s rarest white Grands Crus took place at De Hoefslag hotel and restaurant near Utrecht in Holland on Nov 19 and was organised by wine lover and medical man Derk Jan van Brummen who kindly invited me way back last spring. He had seen my notes on a slightly similar (though in fact rather more modest) Le Montrachet tasting in Burgundy, also in Dutch company. His group of wine lovers, professional and amateurs, is known as Terroir or No Terroir, That Is THE Question, TONTTITQ (“tonty-queue”) for short.
