In Tuscany the biggest surprise of the year came from Colline Albelle, a recent outfit in Riparbella run by Julian Reneaud, a French winemaker and agronomist, who in an email to me wrote that after his studies he did two ‘world tours’ following harvests ‘like most winemakers do when their families don’t make wine’.
