New free resources from the AWRI
We are big fans of the Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) based in Adelaide, not least because so many of their scientists have generously contributed to the Oxford Companion to Wine.

They may be best known outside Australia for their rigorous and wide-ranging research, but as an organisation owned and led by the Australian wine industry, their mission also involves helping their members solve practical problems.
Since 2012 the AWRI helpdesk team has published a monthly ‘Ask the AWRI’ column in the Australian & New Zealand Grapegrower and Winemaker and they have just announced that these columns, in a Q&A format and focusing on technical issues relevant to growers or winemakers, are now freely available. You can view them online or download the pdfs.
We thought these articles might be of interest to any curious wine lover and perhaps especially to wine students.
