For a discussion of a range of Sauvignon Blanc styles from Chile and New Zealand, see Sauvignon Blanc styles analysed.
These notes are listed by score, in ascending order. I have given approximate retail prices in the UK, where known.
Babich Sauvignon Blanc 2006 Hawke’s Bay 14 Drink 2006-07
Ripe but not very fresh on nose (NB vintage). A bit harsh and warm (but then the wine had warmed up, which didn’t help). 13% (JH)
£7.99
Sileni Estate, Selection ‘The Straits’ Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Marlborough 14 Drink 2007-08
Strong pear drop aromas. Searing acidity. No pleasure. 12.5% (JH)
