NZ really does go green

English-born, Melbourne-based wine writer Max Allen, who is in the process of explaining biodynamics to the Australian wine industry via www.redwhiteandgreen.com.au, and was recently chief judge at the Australia/ New Zealand Organic Wine Show in Sydney, reports from a seminal get-together in New Zealand.
Two hundred viticulturists and winemakers attended the first Organic Winegrowers New Zealand symposium in Marlborough last week.
This was no congregation of bearded artisans: speakers included clean-cut vineyard managers and winemakers from some of the country’s largest and most famous wine companies, all enthusiastic in their support for organics.
