Penfolds Collection 2015 – the tasting notes

Yesterday was the big official launch of Penfolds' new releases in Australia. Those in charge of the flagship brand of Treasury Wine Estates, the big boy of Australian wine which earlier this week announced it was buying just about all of spirits giant Diageo’s wine interests (Blossom Hill, Beaulieu, Sterling, yes; Justerini and Brooks, no), are now going to considerable trouble to ensure that the annual release of The Penfolds Collection (sic) is accompanied with as much hoop-la as possible, as we reported here last year.
