Penfolds launch a cunning en primeur campaign

Australia’s most established maker of investment quality red wine is, for the first time, offering futures - in two very special bottlings from the 2004 vintage. They may benefit from soaking up some of the dollars and pounds that might otherwise have been lavished on 2004 bordeaux in a more dynamic campaign.
Blithely ignoring the tussles involved in the Fosters takeover of parent company Southcorp, the Penfolds team have carefully chosen a pair to represent respectively one of their oldest single vineyards and one of their bi-regional blends.
Penfolds last made a Bin 60A blend of Coonawarra Cabernet and Barossa Valley Shiraz in 1962...
