Pick and mix – assorted sweets

For many of us in the northern hemisphere, temperatures are sub-zero, and the prevailing feeling is that we deserve all the calories we can get. Why not from sweet wines, then? Here’s a selection I tasted last October, some of which I found very toothsome indeed.
It is worth noting how good some of the sweet wines produced outside Europe are now. New Zealand recently completed the tortuous negotiations necessary to have their sweet wines allowed into Fortress EU, so I confidently expect to see more lively sweet treats from the North and South Islands in the near future (see...
