Pontet-Canet – an object lesson

In Berry Bros' premises in St James's, London, towards the end of last year, Alfred Tesseron presented a range of vintages designed to display all the work he has invested in Ch Pontet-Canet since taking over in 1982. This is a property that has become hugely popular with many bordeaux lovers, encroaching on Ch Lynch Bages's status as a beloved and over-performing Pauillac fifth growth.
My tasting notes on all the vintages of this century and a few significant ones from the 1990s are below but first, a few bons mots from M Tesseron.
