Riesling triumphs in Bath

Last Thursday I hosted a wine tasting for about 40 professional people in Bath, western England (its famous Georgian crescent is pictured here). The wines, mainly chosen by the organiser of the event, wine lover Dr Rick Porter, whom I first me in Edmund Penning-Rowsell's garden in the Cotswolds in the early 1980s, were supposed to demonstrate passion in wine producers.
