Rosé champagne – the tasting notes
Pink champagne is no longer frivolous or a cash cow. There are some delicious wines here.

It was clear during my whizz around the Champagne region last June that the rosé category is very much alive and well.
It’s still a slight mystery why pink champagne is almost routinely priced higher than its white counterpart, however. When Richard Geoffroy was asked at his farewell tribute tasting why Dom Pérignon rosé was always so much more expensive than the regular Dom P, there was a certain amount of huffing and puffing. I think ‘relative rarity’ was mentioned.
