Should pink wine be a blend?

Do we care that the EU is reported to be set to allow pink wine to be made by simply blending red and white (see Rosé? Just mix red and white says EU)? Unlike many Provençal wine producers, I don’t think I do. I value maximum information so I would ideally like to be told – on the back label perhaps – which technique was used to make the pink wine, or the wine pink. In fact I’d be in favour of the EU legislators devising a telling word – Tradition perhaps – to differentiate rosés made in the...
