The sheer class of Austrian wines continues to amaze me. These wines are not cheap but they maintain a dazzling level of consistency.
The Austrians will be coming to London next month to show off their wares at their annual generic tasting, but I had a preview in Vienna last summer at the popular VieVinum wine fair in the magnificent Hofberg. The only trouble with its being so popular is that it was impossible to take my tasting notes in the usual way with laptop etc. The result was a set of scrawls that has taken this long to decipher...
