Some top wines from October

There were over 300 tasting notes scoring above 17 added to the JancisRobinson.com database in October, from 24 different regions – many of them not published in our tasting articles. Over a third were Italian, and in particular Piemontese, thanks to one particularly high-quality tasting article. Next came Germany with 39 notes, then the Languedoc and south-west France with 26. The rest were scattered between locations as scattered as Croatia, England, Hungary, Switzerland, Australia, Spain and many others besides. A few choice selections from this mélange follow:
