The Penfolds Collection 2016

The launch of The Penfolds Collection (sic) has become a carefully stage-managed affair involving winemaker Peter Gago flying round the world to present the latest releases from the most valuable name in the Treasury Wine Estates portfolio. This year his London visit included a Penfolds' recorking clinic to which almost 30 wine collectors signed up (including Mimi Avery with some bottles back to the 1950s from the family cellar). And he even showed the wines to the French wine media in Paris on a day that took in both the hotel Le Bristol and restaurant Taillevent.
