From my all-too-brief recent visit to Atlantic north-west Spain, here is a selection of tasting notes representing some of the very best Godello and Mencía in the region. We at Purple Pages have long been a fan of Godello in particular – click the Godello tag above to see more – and I'm happy to report these ageworthy dry whites still represent superb value for money. Mencía is similarly affordable, and mostly represents a very different style to the generously oaked, richly fruited styles with which Spain is often associated.
