Waitrose – lots to titillate the tasters

Andy Howard MW continues his seasonal reporting on the wine ranges of the UK's main supermarkets. See also M&S, Aldi and Lidl and Tesco.
The Waitrose spring wine tasting, held over two days in mid May, was a welcome relief after some uninspiring tastings at many of the other leading retailers. Although 200 wines were shown, there were remarkably few disappointing bottles and many to be enthusiastic about. Waitrose seems to have a lot to offer for wine lovers at the moment.
It was surprising to see such a strong performance, given the ongoing battles for market share...
