06 sep Mondavi employees are apparently currently being asked to draw up complete inventories of everything in their bailiwick. Not just for fun, surely? It seems unlikely that the story has ended with the recent dilution of the Mondavi family's holding in the sprawling corporation.
There is no doubt that the Robert Mondavi winery of California is Not What It Was. A highly personal family operation has become a shareholders' shootout with several Mondavi family members being sideline casualities.
The current rumours are that those parts of the bloated group which would submit particularly well to a corporate corset, Woodbridge...
