When I was in Burgundy last month tasting the 2009s for my big report in late January 2011, I spent one day as marraine (godmother) of the 2010 Trophée des Jeunes Talents there. Renowned French wine writer Jacques Dupont of Le Point was parrain.
This annual competition is designed to identify and reward particularly talented winemakers under 40 throughout greater Burgundy on the basis of competitive blind tastings.
