On Saturday, when as fellow Englanders will know the weather was perfect, Nick and I had the great pleasure of spending the day in Bray near Windsor: a look at the Palladian Chiswick House en route, lunch at Heston Blumenthal’s pub the Hind’s Head opposite the Fat Duck, lovely walk by the Thames, and then dinner at Michel Roux’s Waterside Inn. Not a bad way to celebrate the (almost) end of devotion to duty preparing the next, 6th edition of The World Atlas of Wine. (There are so many young chefs in Bray you are likely to see...
